In collaboration with other Coesia Group companies, G.D has developed a Track & Trace system for the world of tobacco modelled on a similar solution developed for use in the pharmaceutical sector.
The system has been specifically designed to generate unique codes for product tagging and for managing them in the production cycle and logistics of extremely high-volume production. This application covers the entire unique code management cycle: from code generation to filing for documentation purposes, so as to include all the specific steps in the production process, as well as both automated and manual activities (e.g. inspections, rejects, re-makes, etc.) and also the stocking process logistics (e.g. product packing and shipping as the first steps in building up an completely traceable e-pedigree for the product).


Created to be tightly integrated with code-marking and reading devices along the production process, G.D Track & Trace provides well-defined, industry-standard interfacing towards the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and MES (Manufacturing Execution System) company systems, to insert itself as a self-sustaining, parallel system limited to exclusively managing the extremely high volume of codes required to trace each individual product unit.
The result is an application which can be inserted in the production environment simply and seamlessly, making it quickly and easily assimilated into the complete product-trace system of factory manufacturing.
