The High Technical Institute has been set up in Bologna to provide training in automation and mechatronic systems; the two-year course will permit students to study for a higher education diploma recognised both in Italy and throughout Europe. For students in the Bologna region, courses will be held at the Istituto Tecnico Aldini Valeriani-Sirani and 50% of the teaching staff will be composed of professional experts from the business world. The courses will include mandatory internships in industries in the region and abroad.

Together with Ima, the Marchesini Group, and Sacmi,  G.D. is one of the founding partners of the new institute which aims at training highly qualified technicians for the design, integration and control of automatic machines and systems used in a wide range of manufacturing fields; this will provide graduate technicians with the opportunity to make an innovative contribution towards increasing the quality of technical professions in the region as well as becoming more competitive on international levels.
