The scale of counterfeit cigarette production and distribution has grown substantially in recent years and such cigarettes are produced in many countries world-wide.
The trade in counterfeit cigarettes is illegal and it puts into the stream of commerce products that are manufactured and distributed without quality controls of any kind.

G.D is fully supporting and co-operating with all its customers in the effort to eradicate counterfeiting of their cigarette brands. We have always been aligned in this direction.

The essential elements of the anti-counterfeiting policy of G.D S.p.A. are as follows:

1.	Before providing any new customers , we definitely execute due diligence checks referred to as the "know your customers checks", and we will continue to do so also in the future. This procedure is and will be applied by us also with our agents.
2.	The "know your customers checks" are and will be performed by us either directly or through our agents on a periodical basis and definitely in case of major changes in the organisation of a specific customer, including the change of ownership or control.
3.	We confirm that we will make our best efforts - and will require our agents to do the same - to ensure that the equipment / spare parts are delivered to the properly defined and checked customer factories.
4.	We confirm that any payment for goods sold will be received by a known entity related to the use and with a clear business relationship (headquarters, parent company and similar)
5.	We confirm that whenever and if we get to know of any counterfeit activity related to our customers brands, we will inform them and act in accordance with the existing law.

G.D confirms to all its customers and suppliers that it will continue to maintain and enforce an anti-counterfeiting policy in the terms set out above.
