Being a leader in the tobacco packaging industry, G.D takes its social responsibilities very seriously. Leadership is not simply defined by market share, turnover or profitability. It is also defined by strong social values. At G.D, we cherish the trust and reputation customers, co-workers and stakeholders have in us. Our reputation is founded on our dedication to the principles of fairness in communicating, excellence in providing high-quality products and services to our customers and respect for all the people working with us.
Through embedding the principles of Corporate Social Responsibility in our business, we are striving to meet our commercial objectives in a manner consistent with social expectations. We are working on establishing a comprehensive CSR practice at all levels.
At G.D, the values of corporate social and environmental responsibility have always been a cultural heritage of the Seragnoli family. Ever since its foundation, Enzo and Ariosto Seragnoli have constantly maintained well-balanced relations with all their internal and external stakeholders, favouring dialogue and cooperation based on trust. Today's President Isabella Seragnoli is strongly determined to intensify this approach, based on the most modern international methodologies of Corporate Social Responsibility.
Community Development Interventions
Through its business success, G.D generates the economic energies that help finance social and environmental improvements, such as employment creation and support to advanced research in scientific, medical and technological fields. Here there are some examples:
- in the '70's, thanks to the contributions of G.D, the "Lorenzo and Ariosto Seragnoli" Hematology Hospital in Bologna was built;
- more recently, G.D took part in building the new wing of the Pediatric Oncology Institute in Bologna. G.D supported the research into depression and anxiety prevention at the Institute of Psychiatry at the University of Pisa;
- in 2002, thanks to G.D active contributions, the "Maria Teresa Chiantore Seragnoli Hospice" dedicated to non curable oncology patients, was created.
Isabella Serągnoli Foundation
